I believe everyone’s life journey is one of a kind and therefore, the therapy you receive to help you along that journey should be as well. Although I hold values from person-centered and humanistic orientations, I tailor each session to what it is you need in the moment. My number one goal as a therapist is to show up with you as you are, and understand you there before moving in any one direction. Building a rapport established in trust, common understanding, and compassion is key to helping you feel welcomed and safe in the space we share together.
I am always captivated by the uniqueness we hold as humans, and therefore, I love working with people from all walks of life. I’ve had extensive experience within the holistic health field and that has carried over to my work as a counselor where I look at someone as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms. You and your story as a whole picture will be accounted for here. It is important to note that I embrace gender affirming and body positive ideals, particularly as it relates to the LGBTQIA+ community.
The gift of being seen and heard is one I have experienced throughout my own mental health journey and I hope to instill this same embodied feeling within our sessions. I am not here to be an expert in any one subject, especially that in which is your life. You are the truest expert of them all in that sense. What I hope to do is help you use that knowledge to grow more aligned with the most authentic version of you. To use language from a parts-work model, your higher self is all knowing and ever living. It’s just sometimes a matter of calming the static and clearing the clutter in order to be able to see it. Life is hard and full of complex trials and tribulations. I want you to know you have the choice to not be alone amidst the complexities
