Jackie Ahern, MA, RDN

I help clients identify mental and behavioral patterns that interfere with their well-being, identify how they uniquely create meaning and purpose, and explore ways to make them feel most aligned with their best self. I work from a behavioral and existential orientation with a trauma-informed and multicultural lens; thus I prioritize understanding my client’s intersections of identity and how those impact their lived experiences. I believe that we must consider the whole person from a mind-body perspective: how everything that impacts our body affects our mind and everything that impacts our mind affects our body. The more we understand both our body and mind and being as a whole, the more we can live in harmony with ourselves and our environment.

As both a mental health counselor intern and a Registered Dietitian I also provide nutrition counseling for eating disorders, body image concerns, women’s health and holistic wellness. I believe that all foods can fit in an intuitive and joyful way, every type of body is valid and whole exactly as it is, and that we must deconstruct our internalized, oppressive biases around diet culture and beauty standards.
